Baton Rouge Gallery's annual benefit event, KINETICS, presented by Hancock Whitney, returns to BRG with its fun and fast-paced live art auction on Friday, November 8, 2019. Each year the event celebrates the energy of contemporary art, specifically in Louisiana's capital city, providing a chance for arts lovers to celebrate their passion while bidding on more than 30 original works from some of the region's most talented and prolific artists.

In addition to the evening’s live art auction, attendees will enjoy live music, great food, complimentary drinks, and more!

Check out this video from a previous KINETICS but please note the date for this 2019’s event is November 8 (not the 10th).

A portion of the evening's proceeds go directly to the local and regional artists that make up the gallery's artist member roster with the remaining funds supporting BRG's twelve exhibitions annually, numerous beloved cultural programs, and more!

During the KINETICS live auction, bidding opens at just $100 for every work up for bid, giving those in attendance an incredible chance to grow their collection while having a great time with their bid paddle in the air.

This special night supports both local and contemporary art in Louisiana's capital city and we thank everyone who helps make so much possible year-round at BRG through KINETICS.

The night's festivities will be kicked off by KINETICS' Special Guest Emcee, Justin Lemoine. Along with a team of friends, Justin co-founded the Mid City Makers Market, a monthly event that showcases local artist, makers, food, and drink vendors. The market has grown from just 12 artists in December 2016 to over 60 booths at each monthly event.

In addition, guests will enjoy a unique and delicious menu of food and drink from City Pork, Tin Roof, and more. Plus, enjoy a live performance from Louisiana’s own Lilli Lewis Project.

BRG is also proud to be partnering with The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank’s Empty Bowls program to show one of the many ways that art makes our community stronger and the quality of life in Baton Rouge better. KINETICS attendees will, alongside ceramicists crafting bowls on pottery wheels, have the unique chance to get their hands just a little dirty by painting and decorating handmade bowls that will ultimately help raise funds to support those facing food insecurity in our community.
